The fundraising group has practiced for their biggest challenge yet.

Ten friends are hoping to smash their fundraising target as they take on the Three Peaks Challenge.

They are hoping to raise £10,000 for Great Ormond Street by climbing the three highest peaks in England, Wales and Scotland – Scafell Pike, Snowdon and Ben Nevis in 24 hours.

They were inspired to undertake the challenge on Saturday, June 2 in honour of two children related to members of the group who have been treated at the world-famous hospital in London.

As part of their training, the group has taken part in the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge and regular 26-mile walks.

Ed Bennett, one of the climbers, said: “None of us have done all the three peaks before. Because there are ten of us we are all supporting each other, spurring each other on. It will be strength in numbers.”
