A mysterious letter from an anonymous pensioner led to Beaver Scouts taking part in a litter pick in Gaywood.

Youngsters from the 12th King’s Lynn Beaver Scouts organised a tidy-up in the area around the library.

Tracey Clark, Scout leader, said: “We were prompted  to organise our litter pick after receiving a letter at our Scout HQ signed simply by ‘An O.A.Pensioner’.

“They suggested that it was ‘an area to clean and hopefully earn cash for doing so’.

“They go on to say, ‘campaign to keep our village clean’ and the Beaver Scouts decided we must go back to carry on picking up the litter and encourage others to do so too.”

Three large sacks of rubbish were collected during the litter pick.

In place of the rubbish the Beaver Scouts left some painted Norfolk rocks in the hope the person who left the note might find one to make them smile.
