A family-run business is hoping a new venture will bring further success.

Meltons Farm Shop has now opened following the extensive refurbishment of the old Knights Hill Farm Shop.

Joan and Cliff Melton began business selling strawberries from a tin shed on the side of the road at Knights Hill in 1976.

Now more than 40 years later, their son Stuart Melton and his daughters Sarah, Nicola and Lucy have moved into the farm shop with in-house butchery.

Manager Lucy Melton said: “This is a totally new venture for us and a million miles away from where it all began.

“So far the shop has been very, very popular and all our regular customers are here too.

“People can come in and get a bit of everything, for their Sunday roast or just their tea.”

As well as the in-house butchery the farm shop offers a deli counter and stocks a range of locally sourced meat and poultry. It also has cheeses from Norfolk and around the world, homemade pastries, fresh produce and freshly baked bread, all available from under one roof.

Meltons Farm Shop is open Monday to Saturday, 9am-5pm. Contact the shop on 01553 674212.
