The new Age UK Norfolk shop at Lynn’s Hardwick Industrial Estate.

Charity Age UK Norfolk has opened the doors of a new Furniture and More Store in King’s Lynn.

The store opened this week on the former Caithness Crystal site on the Hardwick Industrial Estate.

People can purchase furniture and other items and also take donations for the charity to sell.

Age UK Norfolk has stores in Sheringham and Dereham with the same Furniture and More-style approach and has decided to recreate the model at inside units 9 and 11.

The store will stock a wide selection of furniture and white goods and offer free home collection and delivery of large items.

Hilary MacDonald, chief executive officer at the branch, said: “We are delighted to be opening our new Age UK Norfolk Furniture and More Store in Lynn.

“This is an exciting new project for us and a further addition to our expanding retail portfolio.

“We are so grateful to all staff and volunteers who have worked so hard to get the new shop up and running.

“The key to the success of the store will be the support and involvement from the local community and with a good- sized showroom and storage spaces, the new Paxman Road store will offer an even wider range of opportunities for local volunteers from helping in the store, with merchandising, in customer-facing roles, behind- the-scenes sorting through stock and upcycling and renovating furniture ready for sale.”

Free collections of large donations can be arranged by calling  the retail team on 01603 785207.
