SPEED SKATING: A young skater enjoyed a successful time representing his West Norfolk club in 19th International Skeeler Indoor race event in Belgium.

Arthur Buckler, aged eight, of the Walpole Highway-based Wisbech Inline Speed Skaters was in action in Evergem.

The 2017 Mini Boys British Champion was joined by other UK representatives from East Midlands, Birmingham and London in the two-day event.

He won all four of his races in a competitive field of European skaters. The shorter sprint races were lively with lots of overtaking but in the longer races, Buckler was able to stretch his legs and keep the pack behind him.

Putting all his training to good use, he remained focussed throughout.

He thanked his coaches and team-mates for their help with his training and is looking forward to what he hopes will be another successful year of racing ahead with the Indoor British Championships just a few weeks away.
