A section of the A47 near King’s Lynn will close tonight (Friday) for the weekend.

The carriageway beneath the Saddlebow interchange will be shut in both directions from 8pm and will not re- open until 6am on Monday.

A £3m project to repair the bridges over the carriageway started in October and is expected to be nished in the spring.

The road had to be closed late last Friday beneath the interchange due to problems with work which needed to be completed and it re-opened early Monday.

A spokesman for Highways England said the unscheduled closure was due to problems the previous week with over- running work which had to be completed.

This weekend is the rst of two consecutive scheduled weekend closures.

The A47 beneath the bridges is set to close again on Friday, February 16 from 8pm until 6am on Monday, February 19.
