Parents joined pupils at Hilgay Riverside Academy to make their own unique festive decorations.

Family members attended a cafe session in the run up to the Christmas break and helped the children to make decorations from wood.

They turned branches and sticks into baubles and stars to hang from the school tree.

The youngsters also painted Father Christmas, trees, stockings and robins on their decorations, which they took home at the end of term for keepsakes to hang on their own festive trees.

The whole school craft session also included story time.
