A crisper and cleaner looking Your Local Paper rolled off a new press last week.

Printing of the paper has moved to award-winning Mortons Print, of Horncastle.

YLP director Alan Taylor said he was delighted with the quality.

“It is world-class print which has improved the look of our product. It is now a fully-trimmed publication. The exceptional colour and quality has already been noticed by our advertisers and readers.

“I am delighted we have moved to a more local print works and still use King’s Lynn-based Palm Paper news print. The service and quality is second to none.”

Ken Calderwood, commercial manager of Mortons Print, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have been chosen as the new print partner for Your Local Paper and look forward to building on our already excellent relationship.

“From our early discussions, it was very clear Your Local Paper shared our passion for quality printed newspapers.

“The unique half-Berliner style format of YLP is something we have not actually produced before, but pleasingly, through innovation and development work by our internal operational and technical teams, we  managed to fulfil all key requirements set out to us by Your Local Paper to eventually win the work. We are really, really pleased.”

Last month, Mortons was named newspaper printer of the year 2017 by the industry’s PrintWeek.

It was praised by the judges for “outstanding” work on a number of popular titles and its “excellent image reproduction with strong colours and black”.
