A new appeal has been launched to buy 30 wheelchairs for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital at King’s Lynn.

In 2014, Your Local Paper readers raised £24,000 in just 10 months for 30 wheelchairs.

This fresh appeal, launched this week and backed by Lynn’s KL.FM radio station,  would double the number of wheelchairs used to get patients around the hospital.

The new wheelchairs, costing £800 each,  are specially designed and will be used by patients of all ages.

Hospital fundraising executive Laurence Morlaas said: “Our previous appeal was very successful and made such a big improvement to the experience of patients.

“As some of our older wheelchairs now need replacing as well as there being a growing demand for more by patients and porters, I am hoping that the local community –- whether private individuals or businesses – pull together to help us once again.”

Individuals, companies, organisations and groups have been encouraged to fundraise, sponsor a chair and have their name and logo displayed on it.

Sponsorship can be for a whole chair or just a donation towards purchase.
