Cast members from A Letter to the Queen Adelaide being performed in Clenchwarton next week.

A Letter to the Queen Adelaide is the latest offering by members of  Clenchwarton Methodist Entertainment Group (CMEG).

The cast is getting ready to take to the stage for three nights from Thursday, November 16 to Saturday, November 18. Performances will be at 7.30pm in the village Methodist hall.

The musical drama is set in the 1960s with music from the era. It features a fictitious town which the cast has said is similar to King’s Lynn, with many of the same problems.

It turns to comedy, especially when the locals decide to put on a production of The Hound of the Baskervilles. This sparks several letters and the audience will get to see the significance of the correspondence.

There will be free refreshments and a raffle. Money raised from the performances will go towards local causes. Tickets cost £4 for adults and £3 for children under 16.

The village-based amateur dramatic group has a Facebook page with more details.

Members support local charities with three shows a year, usually a pantomime, musical and comedy/drama play.
