RUGBY UNION: West Norfolk’s new u15 girls team enjoyed an unbeaten start.

They made their debut in a tournament at North Walsham to take on teams from Diss, Crusaders and Lakenham Hewett.

Captain Aelfthryth Stewart was a dominant force in the ruck area and her sister, scrum half Edith, scored two tries against Crusaders and one against Diss.

Loosehead prop Alexandra Daniels held her side of the scrum low and got a try against Lakenham Hewitt, while Bethany Robinson, at tighthead prop, demonstrated calmness.

Kaitlyn Keating had an outstanding tournament, scoring once against Crusaders and twice against Diss, while Tilly Greaves made a number of good runs.

Perpetual Nintah-Baah tackled with enthusiasm and was rewarded with a try against Diss.

Lucy Parish made a conversion against Crusaders and completed her scoring tally with a try and conversion against Diss.

Hooker Raven Wales scored a try against Lakenham Hewett.

Women’s forwards pack leader Sarah Hodge, the vice-captain, demonstrated her clear leadership and coaching throughout the day with support from ladies captain Kathryn Sharp and Georgie Lingham.

λ West Norfolk u15s are made up of girls from Years 9 and 10, while the u13s are from Years 7 and 8. New members are welcome, with no experience necessary, just turn up to training on Wednesdays from 6.30pm at Gatehouse Lane, North Wootton.
