Hunstanton Bowls Club Open Triples Tournament organiser Colin Reed, left, with winners Eric Hurrell, Ian Parke and Mick Halifax.

BOWLS: Eric Hurrell, Mick Halifax and Ian Parke came out on top of the Hunstanton Bowls Club Open Triples Tournament at Cromer Road on Sunday.

They beat Chris Wright, Frank Howard and Bob Allen, from St Lawrence Bowls Club in an exciting final.

John Bailey’s team from West Lynn finished in third place.

Thirty bowlers from various clubs took part and enjoyed a day of bowls.

λ Dersingham Institute Bowls Club held their annual bowls charity day for the East Anglian Air Ambulance, the club’s chosen charity for 2017.

Forty-four bowlers took part, the theme being ‘ladies versus gents’ with the gents coming out on top to balance out an earlier win for the ladies.

The club thanked sponsors Silk Road Cantonese restaurant, Heacham; Co-op Dersingham; Spar Dersingham; and Cushions and Quilts, Hunstanton.

The day raised £423 for the EAAA. The running total of funds raised, with two months of the season still to go, is more than £500.
