ANGLING: Nar Valley Fisheries’ Fenn Lake is the place for big Wels catfish.
Jez Hunt, a new member this season, dropped on to Fenn lake to give it a go and ended up with a specimen cat of 55lb 4oz.
He also had a few smaller fish in the same session.
The carp in Lake Geneva are showing around the lake but the excessive amount of rain midweek appears have put them off the feed with only a few fish to 30lb being reported. Prospects are good for the coming week if the weather settles.
Carp anglers have continued to have action from the big bream with many multiple catches made up of individuals to 12lb.
A 21lb common carp from John’s Pond was a pleasant addition to the usual fine quality tench and bream.
Some incredible hatches have made fly selection difficult this week on Hobb’s Lake but rainbows to 3lb have been tempted.
A few coarse fishing permits are still available for this season. For details, contact Chris, 01553 636507.
λ Unsurprisingly, this time of year, fishing has been tough at Blackdyke Trout Fly Fishery.
While fish are still rising and are on the surface at the Feltwell venue, especially in the evening and early morning, they just aren’t taking to anything consistently.
Blobs seem to have had the most success and also the boats seem better than the bank.
The fishery closes today at 6pm and does not open until 1pm tomorrow due to an event taking place.
