TWO acts have booked their places in next month’s final of the annual Battle of the Bands competition.

Sam Coe and the Long Shadows and Mammal Not Fish were the successful acts in the first semi-final held last weekend at the Downham Market Club.

It was a five-way battle with Vulpes, Half Price Drinks and The High Points.

This Sunday, May 28 will see the last live semi-final in the Twisted Melon-organised competition, which will be held at the William Burt Centre, West Winch at 7pm.

The bands which hope to secure a place will be four-piece hardcore punk group, Damaged from Cambridgeshire, young rock and blues duo Dog Fight from Swaffham, Downham Market alternative rock, grunge and folk band Flint Moore, five-piece Americana/Indie band Hot Raisin from Norwich and nine-piece funk band The Wise Naive whose members are from Cambridgeshire and London.

The final will be held on June 4 at the Duke’s Head Hotel in King’s Lynn from 4pm.
