A NORTH Lynn couple handed over £350 raised at their Golden wedding celebration to the King’s Lynn Big C cancer support and information centre.

Terry and Jill Chapman asked for donations instead of gifts for their anniversary on March 18 and were delighted to receive £350 from family and friends who attended a party they held at South Wootton Village Hall.

Mr Chapman is a cancer patient who is in remission and regularly uses the services at the Big C, in Norfolk Street,

The centre offers a variety of cancer-related information, a wide range of practical and emotional support, and somewhere to relax and have the opportunity to talk to trained centre staff.

He said: “I have been going for just over two years, since I was diagnosed.

“They are very helpful and gave me counselling and therapy. They are a very friendly bunch and they support families and anyone affected by cancer.

“I would like to thank everyone at the Big C, especially Tonia King the centre manager.”

Mr Chapman helped to set up a support group at the centre for people diagnosed with prostate cancer. The group meets on the first Wednesday of every month at 10.30am.
