A lifeboat crew rescued a kite surfer from the sea at Hunstanton after she got into difficulty.

A man alerted the RNLI at around 10.50am on Wednesday after his wife was struggling to get her kite airborne.

The man, also a kite surfer, said his wife was drifting towards Holme. The crew rescued the woman who had been in the water for 45 minutes and was showing signs of hypothermia.

An ambulance crew was called to the scene and the woman was checked over and reunited with her husband.

A spokesman for Hunstanton RNLI said the couple, from Suffolk, had thanked those involved for their efforts.
