A 50-year-old woman has died after she was hit by a train in King’s Lynn.

Emergency services were called to the Nowhere level crossing, on a footpath running behind the Hardwick Industrial Estate, shortly after 10.30pm on Friday.

A spokesman for British Transport Police said: “Her family have been told. This incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”

Police have not named the woman and an inquest is expected to be opened shortly.

Passengers on board the train had to wait around two hours while the emergency services worked to clear the incident site.
