GOLF: Experience proved too strong for youth in the annual challenge match at Middleton Hall Golf Club.

A team from the club’s men’s ranks saw off the junior section nine-up, despite having given the youngsters a 288 shot start.

A total of 28 players took part in what proved to be a close match.

Angela Kiddell and Joan Gill scored 56 points to win Middleton Hall ladies’ AKQJ event, a fun greensomes stableford competition.

Runners-up on countback, with 53 points, were Kirsten Kerry and Flora Horne, ahead of Elaine Calvert and Jenny Chessell.

The competition was organised by Elaine Wall and Debbie Hemeter, who also donated the prizes.

λ King’s Lynn Golf Club member Derrick Jarman achieved an ace during the men’s March stableford competition.

His hole-in-one came on the par three, 16th hole.

He celebrated his success by sharing a bottle of whisky with other members in the clubhouse.

The hole in one prize is sponsored by West Norfolk businessman Jeremy Allen.
