Business owners at Drove Orchards in Thornham met with Norfolk County Council to discuss concerns about the impact of a road closure while drainage work is carried out.
Part of the A149 is closed while drainage improvement work is carried out.
Andrew Jamieson, proprietor of Drove Orchards, said: “The meeting went very well. There has been quite a lot of controversy over the closure of the road. Highways have worked really well and really quickly to get it done.
“It is unfortunate that the road needed to be closed, but everyone understands why and everyone was pleased that Highways had acted so quickly.” Mr Jamieson explained there was a severe flooding problem on the A149 between Thornham and Holme just outside Drove Orchards.
A drainage system is now being installed so the road is closed from Monday to Friday, however, work is due to be completed by the end of the month.
Drivers will be diverted via the A149, the B1454 at Heacham and the B1153 at Docking. A shuttle bus will also run between Hunstanton and Brancaster, stopping at Thornham and Titchwell.
