YOUNG families enjoyed frog-themed fun and games during an activity morning at Reffley Wood.

The event was organised by Amy Ranger of the Under 5s Out and About group, which encourages  parents to have fun outdoors with their children.

Youngsters made frog headbands before setting off to follow a frog trail through the woods.

Activities included collecting paper insects usually eaten by frogs, a frog fishing game on the bridge using magnets and hopping across giant lily pads.

There was also a sensory pond for little ones to explore, complete with frogspawn made out of bubble wrap, and the children made their own frog games to take home.

Ms Ranger said the event, held on Tuesday, had enjoyed a good turnout, with just under a hundred people taking part.

Events are held on the first Tuesday of the month. On April 4, there will be Easter family fun with crafts and a trail through the woods. Older siblings are welcome to attend, £1 per child.
