A new state-of-the-art X-ray machine is helping in the fight against breast cancer.

The £65,000 Faxitron machine at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King’s Lynn, has been installed as a result of donations by former patients and their families.

It is used during surgery to help surgeons detect even the smallest of lumps to give patients a better chance.

The QEH is currently the only hospital in the county to use the machine in breast surgery.

During the last year, surgeons removed breast lumps during more than 150  operations.
