Model-making homework has proved a hit at Walpole Cross Keys Primary School.

Pupils are challenged to complete 30 projects related to their school topic work at home in addition to their usual homework tasks.

Youngsters aged four to seven have been learning about polar regions, while the older children have been studying the Mayan civilization.

The children, aged eight to 11, built their own Mayan temples at home using a range of materials, including Lego.

They showed-off their work in a special assembly before they broke up for the half-term break.

A school spokesman said: “Their completed projects were really lovely to see and some of the children enjoyed presenting their work during homework celebration assembly on February 10.”

Children who complete the 30 challenges at home will be invited to a party to celebrate their achievement.

The school is part of the West Norfolk Academies Trust.
