Family-run business, Wrought Iron and Brass Bed Company, is celebrating the opening of its new powder coating facility and looking forward to its next adventure.

The company, based in Shernbourne, was set up in 2006 by Amanda Oldfield and Stephen Thompson providing high quality wrought iron beds  but has since expanded to also, offer mattresses and brass beds.

Their sons Jack and Harry joined the business and are now pivotal in its plans for the future – including a new branch to the company where they will create garden items which will stand the test of time.

North West Norfolk MP Sir Henry Bellingham opened the new powder coating facility on Friday.

Jack said: “Not only will this allow us to enter into new ventures for our own business, but it will also allow us to
open our doors to local businesses and enterprises who are looking for a specialist in high quality powder coating finishes.

“We can now powder coat a variety of metals, from iron to alloys, using a range of powders from high gloss to metallic. We can even create a mirror finish.”

Stephen said: “Being able to use specialised powders has now opened the doors to a new adventure.

“We are taking our iron products outdoors and starting a new company called The Iron Garden.”  The new business will launch next month at www
