Budding gymnasts at St Edmunds Academy in North Lynn are in training for an in-school competition.

Year 2 pupils in Churchill Class have been busy working on their balance and team work ahead of a competition next term.

The after-school gymnastics club is also proving very popular, with around 40 children taking part.

Teaching assistant Sophy Tarsey, who teaches gymnastics, said: “We have some great budding gymnasts  and they love it.

“They are working on their balance and learning how to use different parts of their body.

“They are particularly enjoying shoulder stands and using the apparatus.”

The competition will be between teams of Year 2 children, but the school is hoping to make the competition bigger next year.
