Long service awards were presented to staff at West Norfolk Council who have clocked up 690 years of work between them.

Borough Mayor David Whitby presented the awards to 44 members of staff at a ceremony at King’s Lynn Town Hall on Thursday morning.

Brian Long, leader of West Norfolk Council, said: “I’m delighted to be attending my first long service awards ceremony as leader of the council.

“I’ve worked alongside borough council employees for many years, so I have first-hand knowledge of their dedication and expertise.

“Now I have the chance to personally thank staff for their years of service, and celebrate these landmarks in their working lives.

“I could never do what I do without the support of every last one of the borough council’s outstanding employees, and I’m sure my fellow councillors all feel the same.”

Certificates were given to those who had worked for the council for 10, 20 and 30 years.
