A West Norfolk gastropub has been awarded the title of 2017 Restaurant of the Year for the East of England by The Good Food Guide.
The Duck Inn in Stanhoe has also been named as One to Watch in hospitality publication the Morning Advertiser Top 50 Gastropubs.
“Wow, what an unexpected surprise, a fantastic way to start 2017,” said owner Sarah Handley.
“This recognition is a perfect tribute to our amazing customers and incredible team.”
Fellow owner and husband Ben, added: “The list of entrants in the Top 50 Gastropubs is testament to the quality of eateries up and down the country, and we are all thrilled to be recognised with such esteemed company.”
The couple have ran the restaurant since 2013.
Mr Handley, who is also thead chef, has been in the industry for around 30 years, with The Duck Inn being the first business he has owned.
General manager Sam Handley, Ben’s brother, said the recognition reminded the team how special The Duck Inn was.
