TABLE TENNIS: Adrian’s Allstars’ trio of Mike Nobes, Mick Minns and Jason Carter were the home side against Ringstead Raiders in the Heacham League.

With the Allstars looking to take over top place, they were in determined mood and came away with a 8-2 win against Stephen Stafford, Richard Hendricks and super sub Mike Cooper.

Carter led the way with another maximum to keep his 100 per cent record. His support came from two wins each for Nobes and Minns, plus Carter and Minns won the doubles.

In reply, Cooper got the Raiders two points with wins over Nobes and Minns.

Sedgeford Savages were up against Spivs Specials. For the Savages it was regulars Ian Rix, Finlay Hewson and Benji Richardson, while the Specials consisted of Stephen Jackson, Jim Race and Chris Griggs.

The first game was a cracking five-ender with Rix up against Jackson and it was a great win for Jackson, who went on to complete a brilliant maximum.

It was a close match all the way and the final score was 5-5. Rix was top scorer for the Savages with two wins. Hewson and Richardson both had a win over Griggs and it was Rix and Hewson who clinched a draw with a doubles win.

BT Victory and Hunnys Heroes had a hard-fought match.

Steve Hales and Mary-Ann Woodhouse were joined by new signing Ian Reynolds. Hunnys Heroes had Graham Keeley joined by two super subs, Mike Cooper and Charley Hammond.

No player kept a clean sheet and there were five, five-enders and three four-enders and the final score was 5-5 as Hunnys Heroes hung on to top spot.

On Monday at Heacham Public Hall there will be the second free table tennis taster session, 6pm to 7pm. Bats and ball can be provided. There is no need to book, just turn up and give it a try.
