A new bar and lounge has opened at a historic King’s Lynn hotel.
Massey and Co held two launch events last Thursday and Friday evenings for invited guests.
And on Saturday the bar, which is located in the Duke’s Head Hotel in the Tuesday Market Place, opened its doors to the general public.
Darryl Holdnall, general manager of the Duke’s Head, said: “The launch was really well-attended and reactions to the opening of Massey and Co have been extremely positive across the community.
“We had lots of guests saying Lynn really needed an alternative smart bar with style and I think we’ve created just that.”
Mr Holdnall said the bar would be hosting many events, starting with a 1920s-themed New Year’s Eve party.
He said: “In January, we will be launching our modern jazz piano nights on Thursdays, live soul nights on Fridays and a house DJ will mix cool soft house beats on Saturdays.”
The bar was named after Benjamin Massey who was a partner in a bank, Massey and Co, which was based in the hotel building from 1808 to 1854.
The hotel, built in 1683, is owned by Surya Hotels Group and has played host to some political icons and royalty over the years including Sir Robert Walpole and Princess Victoria, who stayed at the hotel in 1835.
