Gayton Primary School pupils took part in a range of sports inspired by the Olympics in Rio.
The Road from Rio was an Olympic legacy event where children were introduced to sports including archery, tennis, handball, athletics and track and field.
Headteacher Rachael Greenhalgh said: “It went really well and the children thoroughly enjoyed it.
“It gave some children the chance to shine at a different sport.”
The activity was provided by Premier Sport coaching company who will be returning to the school to train Year Five children to be play leaders who can then lead activities at lunchtimes.
Mrs Greenhalgh explained the school is applying for a Youth Sports Trust gold award and this training will help them to demonstrate that pupils are involved in organising, as well as participating in, PE.
