Parents are hoping to save Ten Mile Bank Riverside Academy from closure after the academy trust which runs it announced plans to consider the future of the school.

The Diocese of Ely Multi Academy Trust (DEMAT) said  in a letter to parents that it was looking at proposals for the future of the school.

A spokesman for DEMAT said: “Following an initial meeting on November 3 to discuss the future of the school with parents and carers, a further open meeting will be held on Tuesday from 6.30pm to 8pm at Ten Mile Bank school, to which all members of the local community are invited.”

Parents have set up an action group to try to save the school.

There will be an update meeting in the village hall on Sunday at 4pm to get the children’s views on the proposal.
