Pupils at Terrington St John Primary School swapped their uniforms for dressing up outfits to celebrate what would have been Roald Dahl’s 100th birthday.

An array of characters from the childrens’ author’s best-loved books filled the classrooms last Friday.

There were Matildas, Sophies, BFGs, Oompa Loompas, Willy Wonkas, Enormous Crocodiles and many more.

Deputy Headteacher Rose Ward said: “It was a fantastic day and so much effort went into the children’s costumes.

“We had great fun learning about Roald Dahl’s life and books.”
