A giant pumpkin led a fancy dress parade around Downham Market last Friday as part of the town’s annual Halloween event.

Around 25 children took part in the parade around the town square and many more joined in the free fun and games, including apple bobbing, pumpkin carving, funfair rides, face painting and fancy dress.

It was a community event with local supermarkets Morrisons and Tesco donating sweets and apples, and AT Johnson giving prizes for the fancy dress competition.

Nikki Hannan, of Downham Market Town Council, said: “It was so well-attended and it was nice to offer the children something to come along to completely free of charge.

“It was a really nice atmosphere and we were very lucky with the weather.”
