A consultation has begun on the closure of Smithdon High School’s sixth form.

Smithdon is to become an academy on December 1, joining the West Norfolk Academies Trust, and a sixth form hub serving the trust’s high schools is to open at Springwood High School in King’s Lynn.

Andy Johnson, executive headteacher for the trust, said: “A consultation process will allow for all interested parties to air their views and for the trust to answer any queries or concerns.

“The key thing is that students know that there are clear pathways for them in post-16 education.”
