Coffee mornings are being held throughout West Norfolk to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.new-coffee-morninglogo

The charity stages its World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event today, but some fundraisers have already gone to great lengths to raise cash.

Staff at King’s Lynn’s Marks and Spencer store sat in an bath of cold jelly on September 16 and raised £530.

The fundraising will continue at the High Street store today when staff host a coffee morning with cakes.

Other coffee mornings being held today are at:

Hunstanton:

  • Co-operative Funeral Home, 71 Westgate, 9.30am to 3pm coffee and cakes and refreshments.

Gaywood:

  • Co-operative Funeral Home, 30 Wootton Road, 9am to 1pm.

King’s Lynn:

  •  Goddards, Wellesley Street, 9am to 5pm.
  •  Queen Elizabeth Hospital, coffee, cakes, raffle in The Hub restaurant from 10am to noon.
  •  West Norfolk Knitters and Stitchers, 10am to noon at the community centre, Providence Street, coffee and cakes.
  • Friends of Runcton Holme School 2.15pm coffee and cakes at the school.
  • Everybody salon in Railway Road, 9am to 6pm, coffee, cakes and a lucky dip.
  • North Wootton, GP Surgery 9.30am to 12.30pm, coffee and cakes.
  • Corn Exchange, King’s Lynn, 10am to 2pm coffee and cakes.

Southery:

  • Village Hall, 10am to noon, stalls, competitions raffles with a bingo at 7.30pm.

West Winch:

  • William Burt Social Club, 8.30am until late with fitness activities, football, games, auction, live bands and a barbecue.

 

 Tomorrow: King’s Lynn, North Lynn: Methodist Church, Losinga Road 10am to noon.  Cakes, coffee, tombola, knitted clothes, competitions.


Coffee mornings will also be held later this month on the following days:

October 13: Carrington House, Snettisham, 10am to 12.30pm, cakes and refreshments.


October 14: Art and Craft Club and Rainbow Quilters coffee morning at Walpole St Peter Village Hall. The event will run from 9.30am to noon with cakes, stalls, tombola, crafts display by members and games for children.
