ATHLETICS: All four Ryston members recorded good times at the Reepham 10K on Sunday.
Callum Stanforth was second overall in 36.06 four places ahead of Adam Howard in 38:19.
Lorena Latisaite was fourth woman to finish, in 43.44, and Jan Manning ran 45.59 for sixth senior woman.
The senior track and field team travelled to Bromley for the final Southern Athletics League and secured the third place they needed to confirm a place in Division Two for the 2017 season.
There were plenty of personal bests. Che Plant managed two, in the 400m (57.99) and 2000m steeplechase (7.08.09).
Three PBs went to Lorena Latisaite: 400m (69.19), 2000m steeplechase (8.25.71) and shot (7.17m).
In the men’s 100m, Quinton Houston (12.14 ) and Anwar Bouilouta (12.48 1st B string) achieved PBs, while in the women’s 200m, Caitlin Harris-Doy ran a PB of 32.64. Other PBs fell to Kelly De-Gol (800m, 2.37) and Holly Chen (long jump, 4.61m).
Good points scores were achieved in a variety of events: men’s sprint hurdles second A string and first B string for Daniel Yellop and Gareth Hunt; same result for Hunt (1.70m) and Quinton (1.65m) in the high jump; second places in the steeplechase (Robert Simmonds and Che Plant) and pole vault (Simmonds and Ian Hogarth).
Simmonds won the javelin (45.96) and in the women’s discus, second places came courtesy of Laura Allen (A 20.88m) and Rebecca Tuff (B 19.84m), and in the hammer likewise, with Gaye Clarke (A 26.58m) and Laura (B 19.55m) second.
Three Ryston athletes were in action at Oxford as part of the Norfolk team in the Southern Counties Inter Counties Track and Field match.
Thea Howlett threw a PB and club age group 33.66m in the u15 javelin.
She then extended her shot PB and club record to 9.32m with a big first throw.
Kate Willis was also in the Norfolk u15G team and Hannah Brown reached the u20 400m final.
