King’s Lynn Beer Festival is under way and could be on track to become the biggest and the best yet.

This year’s festival, sponsored by Lynn IT company Uptech, is raising money for the Engage Theatre Company, a charity based at Providence Street Community Centre.

More than £6,500 was raised for the special care baby unit at Lynn’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital last year.

A number of local businesses are sponsoring the event and the tablers hope the festival, which has the royal family as its theme, will be the best yet.

As well as beer and cider, there will be a barbecue and raffle at the event, running from noon to 11pm, with live music in the evenings.
