King’s Lynn Stars 50-40 Belle Vue
With the voice of team manager Rob Lyon ringing in the ears of The Stars, true to form they bounced back following a rare home defeat last week against Coventry.
Stars number one Niels-Kristian Iversen led from the front scoring 14 points.
He was backed up by the superb Lewis Rose (8 points) riding in the main body of the team for only the second time in his Stars career. A rejuvenated Troy Batchelor picked up 9 points as he returned to better form, getting some heat wins under his belt that would help his confidence.
Robert Lambert warmed up for his Grand Prix Qualifier in Lonigo Italy on Saturday by picking up the 10+1 bonus point. This included some hard fought battles from the back of the pack on trademark “Ruthless” style.
Lyon said after the meeting: “Hopefully they took notice, we had a long hard chat on the track walk and we’re just looking for 100% commitment and we certainly got that no doubt about it.
“We took the match to Belle Vue. They (Belle Vue) were always there or there abouts but never really threatened. I’m proud of the boys tonight and long may it continue.”
