For the generation not brought-up in the digital age, it can be nothing short of daunting when faced by the prospect of emailing or surfing the internet.

Whether it’s tablets, laptops or smart phones, it can be a minefield knowing which is the best option when the time comes to join the broadband revolution.

Visitors to a West Norfolk library had the chance to try their hand at new technology before deciding to buy.

A taster session for complete beginners on tablets has been held at Gaywood.

Older residents were invited to take part in the event and have a go on Apple iPads before deciding if they should buy one, or a similar device.

Libraries around the borough are holding similar courses in the coming weeks – some free of charge and others which have a £5 charge.

Free courses on downloading magazines using the Zinio app will be held at Dersingham Library on May 5 or June 2 and 30; email basics at Hunstanton on June 6 and 13.

Paid-for courses, at £5 a session, include a Pinterest taster in May 23 at Dersingham and an iPad course at the same venue over three sessions  from May 9. Booking is essential on 01485 540181 (Dersingham); 01485 532280 (Hunstanton).
