Villagers throughout West Norfolk are being asked to lace-up their training shoes
ready for this year’s annual village games.
The event, now in its 24th year, will be held on Sunday, June 26, at Lynnsport in King’s Lynn from 10am to 4pm.
The games are open to all 90 villages in the borough and this year the sponsor will be Mercedes-Benz.
James Keech, general manager of the business, said: “Mercedes-Benz of Kings Lynn continuously looks for ways in which to support the local community, and the West Norfolk Village Games provides just that opportunity.
“We’re proud to support such a positive initiative and hope that this year is as successful as all previous years.”
The games were officially launched this week and Adam Garford, sports development manager and event organiser said: “The village games is a fantastic event it really brings the community together. We need key personalities in villages to step forward and raise a team to enter.”
The defending champions are Terrington St Clement (medium villages) and Massingham and Harpley (small villages).
The games will keep the same format as last year with a total of 19 events for adults and children. These will include football, netball, badminton, bowls, rounders, a fitness triathlon and a fun Gladiator Challenge. Teams can enter as many events as they wish.
