A female cyclist was taken to hospital by air ambulance after an accident with a silver Peugeot car in King’s Lynn on Tuesday.
The crash, in Railway Road at around 11am, caused traffic gridlock for several hours around the town as emergency services attended and a Magpas helicopter landed at the nearby bus station.
The collision happened at the junction with Wellesley Street.
A spokesman for Magpas air ambulance service said a woman in her 40s had sustained head and pelvic injuries.
She was anaesthetised before being flown to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge for treatment. Her condition was described as serious but stable.
Police officers have appealed for witnesses to the ince. Anyone able to help should call PC Richard Clark at Swaffham Roads Policing Unit on 101.
