Around 50 King’s Lynn residents jumped at the chance to appear live on Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.

As part of the ITV programme’s feature Sofawatch, West Norfolk viewers recognised the ‘secret’ sofa location on screen as Lynnsport.

So they dashed to the sofa and were allocated a number, which resulted in Adam Banham winning a ticket for tomorrow’s studio recording of the show.

Nina McKenna, head of programming and marketing at Lynnsport, said staff had to keep tight-lipped prior to the event going out live on television.

“It was all very hush-hush,” she said.  “There were only about five of us that knew about it, and we couldn’t  give anything away.  It was  great, we were so excited.”

Actor Hugh Jackman, a guest on the show, revealed he had recently visited Lynn the previous weekend as his mother lives in Norfolk.
