Hopes of a day out at Carrow Road for King’s Lynn Town Reserves were dashed at The Walks on Tuesday.

The Linnets were beaten 3-1 by Dereham Town in the semi-final of the Norfolk County FA Senior Cup, despite Dylan Edge having given them a second half lead.

A first half of missed chances by the visitors looked like coming back to haunt them when Edge gave Lynn the lead in the 61st minute.

But that sparked the Isthmian League side into life and Luke Tuttle equalised from the penalty spot after Tom McLeish was penalised for a push on Sam Borrer.

Minutes later Dereham went in front through Ryan Crisp.

Alex Street pulled off a penalty save but Dereham made it three when Sam Borrer got on the scoresheet, heading home Tuttle’s free-kick.

Liam Fryatt was sent off after picking up his second yellow card in the dying minutes of a match watched by 235 fans.
