King’s Lynn Stars asset Simon Lambert is returning to the Adrian Flux Arena for the new Elite League season as reserve, writes Chris Milsom.

Lambert comes in at the expense of Lewis Kerr, who has had to move to Lakeside to accommodate his Premier League duties with Ipswich following the Stars change of race night to Thursday.

Stars boss Rob Lyon believes that the signing of Lambert is good business for the club and said: “Simon is a good option for us.

“He knows the track at the Adrian Flux Arena well and that will be a huge benefit when the tapes go up in March.”

With the signing of Lambert, that leaves team manager Lyon with just one place to fill in his side.

The No.1 slot is still vacant as the difficult job of replacing Niels-Kristian Iversen continues.

Lyon said: “We are looking at riders with the last position in mind.

“I will be honest and say that the search has been problematic and one that has caused us a few issues.

“We want to do what’s best for the club and, if that means waiting a little longer, then that’s what we’ll have to do.”
