Luke Johnson is celebrating his first win since turning professional last year.
King’s Lynn Golf Club member Johnson came top of the pile on the Gecko Tour, in Marbella, Spain
He shot seven under par over the three rounds at the Los Naranjos Golf Club and La Quinta Golf and Country Club and was leading from the first day.
Despite playing against a strong field, including some who have recently played on the European Tour, Johnson, 23, finished three shots clear of the field to win the tournament.
Johnson said: “This win has come after lots of practice and dedication over the winter months.”
He completed rounds of 67, 70 and 71 for a total of 208, three ahead of fellow Brit, Sam Connor, from Alsager.
They were followed home by five Spaniards with Scotland’s Ross Kellett in eighth place.
The 69-strong field also included golfers from Finland, Sweden, Russia, Switzerland and Belgium among other nations.
Johnson’s score consisted of 12 birdies, 37 pars and only five bogies.
A Los Naranjos course spokesman said: “There is no doubt he deserves the victory as he’s been able to play every day under par.
“It’s remarkable. He is a real champion as conditions were quite difficult.”
Johnson said: “It was awesome to get my first win as a pro.
“I must thank my family, friends, King’s Lynn Golf Club and my supporters from the local business community, in particular Brian Underwood, Chris Ashmore and Jeremy Allen.”
