The family of a Hunstanton teenager in a coma have been ‘overwhelmed’ by support from both friends and strangers.
Jordan Dowen has been in Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, since December 18 when he was cycling to school and crashed with a car near Smithdon High.
“He seems to be stable. He is still sedated and ventilated and very poorly,” said his dad Sherridan, managing director of Lynn Star transport company.
“It’s a waiting game,” added his mum Joanne yesterday.
Friends have started a social media campaign to support the 15-year-old’s recovery.
The #timetowakeup campaign was started on Twitter and Facebook where messages of support have been left.
His parents have been at his bedside since the crash and they yesterday thanked the emergency services and medical staff for being ‘miracle workers’.
Messages have been posted to the campaign set-up by family friend Duncan Goose, founder of the One Water brand and brother of actress Claire, who has also posted her support.
Jordan, who plays rugby for West Norfolk Rugby Clubs under-16s, was injured when his bicycle collided with a Mini Cooper.
