Have a Wookiee at this – more than 1,000 Star Wars tickets have been sold in King’s Lynn ahead of next month’s film release.

The Majestic Cinema in Tower Street, has seen advance tickets sell-out almost a month before the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

And 200 of the tickets have been bought for the after midnight screening on Thursday, December 17.

Tom Cundy, cinema manager, said he has never known a movie to sell out so quickly in the four years he has worked there.

“Star Wars is more than just a film, it’s more like an event, a piece of history.

“But to be honest, we’re not concerned with the actual film,  as that advertises itself.

“However we want to make sure we put the film on as perfect as it can be, we don’t want people to leave disappointed.”

Mr Cundy did reveal the cinema will celebrate the release with a host of Star Wars characters arriving at the venue.

“We will have some Stormtroopers and  Chewbacca around the town,” he said.

The Force Awakens, written by Jeffrey Abrams, is set around 30 years after the events of Return of the Jedi, with characters returning from previous Star Wars films.
