King’s Lynn Academy u12s with their five-a-side trophy.

The King’s Lynn Academy u12 team have been crowned champions of the West Norfolk Indoor Five-a-side Championship.

They remained undefeated throughout the entire tournament at Lynnsport, recording a 100 per cent win record.

In the group stages, they beat Springwood 6-2, KES B 4-1, St Clements A 2-0 and Litcham 4-2 to finish top. 

They then defeated KES A 4-0 in the semi-final before defeating Springwood 2-1 in a close final.

The team of Thomas Beeby, Josh Andrews, Alfie Harvey, Joe McNulty, Lewis Case, George Pooley, Maksims Prohorovs and Josh Stone rose to the challenge of being favourites by scoring 22 goals in total and only conceding six. 

Top scorers were Case and McNulty with seven each. Harvey scored four, Stone three and Maksims added one.

Academy teacher David Endersby said: “The trophy was last won by King’s Lynn Academy back in 2002 and, following a 13-year drought, the boys were delighted.”
