Bethany Barnett represented King’s Lynn Cycling Club at a girls only cyclo-cross event in Peterborough.

CYCLING: Bethany and Florence Barnett have been busy representing the junior section of King’s Lynn Cycling Club.

Friday saw them in Peterborough for a girls-only evening of cyclocross races, which attracted riders from eight clubs across the region.

They thoroughly enjoyed it, particularly since Bethany managed second place in the u12s and Florence was third in the u10s section.

At Fakenham for Round 12 of the Eastern Cyclocross League, Bethany was second in the u14s, while Florence was the highest placed girl, and sixth overall in her category.

Go-ride training sessions for eight-16 year olds are held every Tuesday at Lynnsport, 6-7pm.

Phillip Seaman has been elected as the club’s new chairman.

He said: “I feel privileged to chair a club that was founded in 1931. I would like to encourage more riders to join and enjoy the club’s all inclusive membership.

“You can start as an novice and then gain from the club’s wealth of experienced riders who take part in time trials, road races and mountain biking.”
