Lewys Weaver in action for West Norfolk during their 22-17 London and South East League three North East win over Stowmarket.

RUGBY UNION: West Norfolk had to hit back from behind to secure a 22-17 victory over Stowmarket in Division Three North East of the London & South East League.

Ross Biggs gave the hosts an early lead but lapses in concentration allowed Stowmarket to gain the upper hand to go 12-5 ahead. Lee Williamson crashed over to close the gap but a quickly taken line out on the break saw the visitors open a 17-10 lead.

Second half pressure told when Alex Singleton burst through to score and a fourth try to secure the bonus point saw winger Jake Richardson clinically finish off a great pick and go from Adrian Flux man of the match Sam Moses, who added the conversion.

“This was a game we should have won much more comfortably but to win even when not playing at your best is a good sign,” said manager Nigel Richardson. “Now we have another week off as we build up to a tough challenge at Beccles on November 7.

Mark Tillbrook was man of the match in West Seconds’ 21-7 defeat at Norwich Seconds.
