Ten-man King’s Lynn Town fell to a 3-0 defeat at bottom club Bedworth United in the Premier Division of the Southern League on Tuesday.
The Linnets were already trailling to Aron Wint’s opener when young striker Toby Hilliard received a straight red card for deliberate use of the elbow on home captain Kyle Cartwright.
Bedworth doubled their lead just before the break when Jordan Archer stabbed home.
Lynn piled on the pressure in the second half to no avail with Michael Clunan and Ryan Fryatt going close and Zacek Zielonka and Sam Mulready both had efforts cleared off the line.
Richard Wesley wrapped up in the points in the dying minutes.
Gary Setchell confirmed after the game that striker Jake Speight had left the club.
Lynn will travel to Barwell in the third qualifying round of the FA Cup on October 10 thanks to a single-goal victory over Witham Town at The Walks on Saturday.
The visitors started the stronger and Simeon Adelale shot wide when Alex Street failed to deal with a high looping cross.
Minutes later Witham had another chance when Ryan Charles stung the palms of Street from distance.
The only goal came after 28 minutes when Lee Stevenson’s cross from the right just missed the on rushing Liam Hurst but fell to Sam Mulready who nipped in front of the covering defender and was brought down. Michael Clunan made no mistake from the spot, sending the keeper the wrong way.
The visitors had a good chance to get on level terms when Daniel Emmanuel swept past Ryan Fryatt and his pass into box was struck goalwards by substitute Scott Kemp but cannoned to safety off a post.
